Our Christian Beliefs

Statement of Our Core Values

Since 1887, Oriental United Methodist Church has been and is committed to living out our values of love for God and one another. Guided by John Wesley’s Three Simple Rules: do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God, we joyfully worship, engage in local and worldwide missions, and love God and neighbor in all we do. All are always welcome in our OUMC community.

Shared Common Heritage

United Methodists share a common heritage with all Christians. According to our foundational statement of beliefs in The Book of Discipline, we share the following basic affirmations in common with all Christian communities:
