Your Wedding at Oriental United Methodist Church
Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Those who choose to marry in the church are communicating the spiritual nature of marriage. Getting married in a church signifies a deep spiritual to your partner, placing God as the center of your marriage by celebrating it in a sacred place. The architecture and atmosphere of a church can provide a sense of solemnity and reverence, creating a special backdrop for your wedding ceremony.
Our Facilities
Our church sanctuary provides excellent acoustics, assuring that wedding guests will actually hear the wedding vows you speak to each other. The church’s Keeping Room may be reserved by the wedding party for use before and after the service. This room provides a private place for changing clothes or a small gathering. The Fellowship Hall is also available to be used for a casual reception. Our OUMC sanctuary can seat up to 200 guests comfortably. The sanctuary has a “Hearing Loop” that allows those with T-coiled-enabled hearing aids to connect their device to the church sound system. The Labyrinth near Lou Mac park is also available for the wedding ceremony and/or reception.
Planning Considerations
The planning and conduct of the wedding service is under the authority of the clergy of the Oriental United Methodist Church who follow the dictates of the United Methodist Church.
A church wedding is a service of worship; any music used in the service must reflect a Christian understanding of love and marriage or express the worship of God.

Once you have submitted this request for additional information you will be contacted by the wedding coordinator who will review the church’s wedding policies with you and introduce you to our Pastor. The wedding coordinator will help you decide if our church is the right choice for your ceremony. All couples married in our church agree to pre-marital counseling. In addition we can recommend local service providers and venues for a formal reception.
Facility Cost
The use of the sanctuary is free to church members; non-members will be charged $500.00. The coordinator will help you determine if other costs will be incurred to support your plans.
