Going Global with God’s Grace

Your giving to OUMC allows our Missions Team to support these projects all over the world.

Escuela Nuevo Horizonte (New Horizon School), Lambare, Paraguay

The vision of Escuela Nuevo Horizonte, a Christian school in Lambaré just outside of Asuncion, is to raise up a generation of youth who can serve as future leaders of this country. They will practice integrity and honesty guided by Biblical principles and the Holy Spirit. The school, opened in 2001, has earned an excellent reputation for its strong academics and Christian education.

TMS global missionaries Carol and Donald Paige

Carol and Donald Paige began their missionary journey in 2008, serving the students of New Horizon School in Paraguay.  In January of 2021, God called their family to a new assignment in Spain.  Carole is the curriculum coordinator for LIFE International School, a Christian school in Madrid.  Donald is supporting the school in several areas including physical education, small group work and recess duty.

Project Agape, Armenia

Project AGAPE — ministry to Armenia and to some of our most desperate Christian brothers and sisters — is a collaborative effort of the North Carolina and the Western North Carolina Conferences of The United Methodist Church in a joint effort with the Armenian Apostolic Church.

ZOE Ministry

ZOE is an empowerment program assisting some of the most at-risk children around the world to become self-sufficient, permanently moving beyond charity. Current enrollment is over 40,000 across Kenya, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Malawi, Tanzania, Liberia, India and Guatemala.

Imagine No Malaria

Unlike many other diseases that are awaiting a cure, malaria was eliminated in the U.S. in the 1950s. However, in Sub-Saharan Africa, malaria continues to kill a child every two minutes.

By improving the ways people fight the disease using bed nets, providing access to diagnostic tests and medicine, draining standing water, and improving sanitation, Imagine No Malaria has helped reduce malaria deaths by more than half. Imagine No Malaria combines integrated health infrastructure, education and advocacy to address death and the debilitating effects of malaria.
