Financial Information
Donations to Oriental United Methodist Church are used to sustain and grow its missions and ministries.
- All gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
- Gift acknowledgements will be mailed to donors.
- The budget is prepared in consultation with all ministry areas. The Finance Committee then makes the formal recommendation of the budget for missions and outreach, education and discipleship, worship and music, buildings and grounds and for other operating expenses and salaries to the Church Charge Conference for approval.

If you would like some assistance in calculating proportional giving, there is an on-line calculator that can assist you in knowing what your giving would look like if you gave on a per week, per month or per year basis. Monetary Gifts to Operating Budget
You can make your gift to OUMC in a variety of ways. You can put loose money in the offering plate as it is passed, but if you contribute this way you will not receive a contribution statement for the gift. You can give a check. You can mail in your gift. You can place it in your numbered offering envelope. If you use online banking at your bank you can set up a recurring payment at whatever frequency you choose and have it sent directly to OUMC. Which way is right for you and your lifestyle? Annual Stewardship Campaign to Set OUMC Operating Budget
Every fall the Finance Committee, with input from the ministry areas, establishes a proposed budget. A critical step in developing the budget is finding out what you are estimating your gift to OUMC will be for the upcoming year. We will provide you with an “Estimate of Giving Card” so you can communicate your giving plans. By submitting an estimate of giving card you enable the church leadership to plan and set priorities for the coming year. The OUMC operating budget supports missions and outreach, education and discipleship, worship and music, buildings and grounds, and other operating expenses and salaries. Memorial, Honorarium, and other Special Gifts
Memorial gifts may be made in memory of a deceased person, as a living tribute in honor of an individual, or as an indication of gratitude for a particular blessing received. These gifts may be designated for a specific Fund or project. Families are notified that the contribution was made. Non-Cash Gifts
